How does the Shopzilla Marketplace work?
The Shopzilla Marketplace is all about connecting customers with retailers. Working with us will get your products listed and categorised on Shopzilla.co.uk and Bizrate.co.uk , our comparison shopping search websites. When a customer finds and chooses your product on our site, one click sends them directly to your product page where they can buy. You pay a pre-agreed amount for each visitor sent from our sites.
How does payment and pricing for the Shopzilla Marketplace work?
You pay for customer leads on a CPC (cost-per-click) basis. There is a minimum bid price for each subcategory and can change your CPC bids as often as you wish, offering you an easy and effective way to reach high-quality shoppers while carefully managing your ROI (return on investment). CPC bidding at the category, subcategory and product levels gives you full control, and you can add or remove products that you wish to list on the marketplace at any time. You only pay for the traffic you receive – there are no other costs.
Are there any set up fees?
There are no set up fees. The minimum deposit is £50, all of which will be applied to the subsequent clicks from our shopping search engine to your site.
How does this programme differ from ‘keyword’ buys?
Unlike other search engines you may purchase keywords on, Shopzilla is a shopping search engine that allows shoppers to compare stores, products and prices. Shopzilla places your products in relevant subcategories, ensuring your products are seen by the right kind of shoppers. An example of a subcategory would be Digital Cameras, Cosmetics or Bedding. Click here to see a complete list of the subcategories included on our site.
Instead of bidding for placement on keywords, you make CPC (cost-per-click) bids for an entire subcategory. All of the products assigned to a subcategory, will be charged the CPC you have selected for that subcategory.
How do I manage my account?
As well as a dedicated account manager, listing your products on the Marketplace gives you access to our Business Services site. This gives you 24 hour access to your account information and performance metrics, and our comprehensive Bidding Tool allows you to change and manage your CPC bids at any time.
How will you get my products listed?
In order to allow shoppers to compare stores, products and prices, Shopzilla displays complete product information from all stores in any given search result. To accomplish this, we ask you to submit your product information to Shopzilla in the form of a product feed. This feed can be in a number of formats (TXT, CSV, XML) with information such as product description, image URL, price etc.
Based upon the products in your feed, Shopzilla places your products in relevant "subcategories". An example of a category is Appliances, and examples of subcategories would be Refrigerators, Food Processors, and Microwaves. Click here to see a complete list of the subcategories included on our site.
Your dedicated account manager can help you supply a product feed that will ensure all your products are listed and categorized correctly.
Will Shopzilla be able to spider or crawl my site to retrieve product information?
No, Shopzilla requires a product feed submission to list your products.
How will I be able to track conversion and overall performance?
To track your conversion and overall performance, you may use the free Shopzilla Performance Tracker. The Performance Tracker is a simple piece of code that you add to your receipt page.
Adding the Performance Tracker to your site allows you to receive enhanced reporting by combining click and cost data with sales performance data such as orders, sales revenue, conversion, cost per order, and cost of sale. This data enables you to identify the products that drive your performance results, and allows you to optimise your campaign according to your performance objectives.
Installing the Performance Tracker is quick and easy.
How many redirects should I expect to receive from Shopzilla?
We are unable to estimate how many leads you will receive before your account goes live. The amount of leads you receive will largely be dependent on your position in the search results.
Shopzilla uses a relevancy-based ranking model to determine your position in the product search results. These factors include your CPC bid, product prices, product availability, and your Smiley Scale rating gained from participation in our free Bizrate Consumer Insights programme. Since your bid is one of these key components, the higher you bid within a subcategory, the higher your ranking in the relevant search results.
You will be able to manage your CPC bids as soon as you receive notification that your listings are live. At that time, the Bidding Tool located on our Business Services site will show your leads and cost estimates for the next 7 days.
